29/08/07 DSM’s weight management ingredient, Fabuless continues to achieve significant commercial success thanks to a brand new dietary supplement recently launched in Europe. Registered as Slimthru in the UK and Ireland and Slimcup in Austria, Germany and Italy, this is an innovative single serve product, distributed by Melbrosin. This latest introduction further demonstrates the growing demand for a new and convenient method for consumers to manage their weight effectively.

Slimthru/Slimcup come in a single dose format which is convenient for use throughout the day. The emulsion has an appealing creamy texture, neutral odour and slightly ‘oaty’ taste meaning it can be consumed either on its own or added to foods and beverages of choice such as coffee, yoghurt or cereals amongst other applications to promote a feeling of satiety.

Fabuless is an innovative combination of oat and palm oils (both naturally occurring dietary lipids) formulated in a novel emulsion. It works by preventing the digestion of palm oil droplets until relatively deep in the small intestine. Because undigested fat arriving in the ileum (the latter part of the small intestine) triggers an 'appetite satisfied' signal to the brain, consumers are able to reduce their calorie intake and still feel satisfied.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans, the Slimthru and Slimcup products will initially come in packs of 12 or 30 and be sold via pharmacies and healthfood stores.
