Sep 24 2010 --- Natural health beverage company Odwalla is introducing Heart Health Superfood to the US market, a new blend that contains 0.4g of plant sterols per 8 fl oz serving. The plant sterols -- naturally sourced plant extracts -- may help to reduce cholesterol and support cardiovascular health when you drink two 8 fl oz servings per day with meals as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, “so Heart Health is as good for your health as it is for your soul.”
Foods containing at least 0.4 grams per serving of plant sterols, consumed twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 0.8 grams as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. An 8 fl oz serving of Odwalla Heart Health contains 0.4 grams of plant sterols. A 450 mL bottle of Odwalla Heart Health contains 0.8 grams of plant sterols. The resealable bottle makes it easy to pour half of a 450-ml bottle into a glass for consumption over two meals.
This heart-y smoothie brims with a mix of refreshing juices and purées: apple, peach, banana and strawberry. Then Odwalla adds a touch of tasty purple boysenberry puree and Concord grape juice.

A good source of Vitamin C and potassium, Heart Health joins the five existing members of the Superfood product family: Original Superfood, Berries GoMega, Red Rhapsody, Pink Poetry and Mo'Beta. Heart Health is available in 450 mL grab-n-go recyclable plastic bottles.
Consumers can expect to find Heart Health on shelves in natural food stores, select supermarkets and specialty outlets across the country in mid-September.
