Betapol Ingredient Breaking Into New Markets
Betapol was officially approved for use in China just last year, but the ingredient has already been selected as a formula component by Hunan AVA Dairy Company Ltd – the fifth-largest domestic producer of infant formula in China.
97/04/09 The number of international infant formula manufacturers that are adding Lipid Nutrition’s Betapol to their products continues to grow, the company has reported. These include major players in the Asian and European markets – and new ones in North America are set to follow.
Betapol was officially approved for use in China just last year, but the ingredient has already been selected as a formula component by Hunan AVA Dairy Company Ltd – the fifth-largest domestic producer of infant formula in China. What’s more, the current market growth is not just limited to Asia. Although Betapol has already been used for years in some European countries, it continues to make new inroads. In Switzerland, Hero recently launched its infant formula ‘Sensible’, which contains Betapol. Hero’s infant formula is already the market leader in Spain and Turkey. Heinz, the major multinational food company, is also including Betapol in its ‘Nurture’ line of infant formulas in the UK. In addition of many other Infant Formula companies already co-branding, these last two manufacturers are co-branding their products with the Betapol logo and brand name. Recently, Canada also officially approved Betapol for use in food products. It is only a matter of time before formula manufacturers in this market begin integrating the ingredient with its health-enhancing properties into their products as well.
