2pt5 Health unveils Brain Wafer lozenges with excitatory neurotransmitter precursors
15 Oct 2021 --- US-based 2pt5 Health has launched Brain Wafers – oral lozenges designed to enhance the body’s natural production of acetylcholine and dopamine.
The no-water-needed supplement is positioned as an on-the-go solution that delivers mental and physical energy. It is also marketed as effectively providing mood and memory support through its oral delivery format.
“Portions of many nutrients and drugs that enter the gastrointestinal tract never enter general circulation because they are inactivated by the liver. This decreases the amount of nutrients that reach general circulation,” explains John Pillepich, 2pt5 Health cofounder.
“Because Brain Wafers are lozenges, a higher percentage of the nutrients are absorbed in the mouth via sublingual and buccal absorption. This promotes direct entry into systemic blood circulation, reducing loss.”
Brain Wafers are formulated with natural ingredients that act as precursors to excitatory neurotransmitters like acetylcholine and dopamine.
Acetylcholine plays a role in attention and arousal. The neurotransmitter also works to activate muscles, learning and memory and regulate attention and mood, says the company.
Ingredients to enhance acetylcholine include the L-carnitine derivative acetyl-L-carnitine, citicoline and huperzine A, isolated from Chinese club moss Huperzia serrata.
Dopamine, meanwhile, positively affects attention, behavior and cognition, learning, memory, mood, movement and pleasurable reward.
L-tyrosine is a nonessential amino acid included in Brain Wafers to enhance dopamine production.
Energy on-the-go
Brain wafers are particularly positioned for consumers who need to quickly jump into action, such as firefighters, police officers and frontline medical personnel.
The nootropic benefits that come with the physical energy are alertness and focus without the jitters of caffeine, describes the company.
The lozenges are also fast-acting, according to the company, delivering an energy lift that “starts in minutes.”
Supplements that can boost both the body and mind’s performance are trending in sports nutrition, according to a recent Special Report.
Mental health was also recently spotlighted as a trend pegged to edge out immunity in the wake of COVID-19.
