The use of skin health claims in supplements & sports nutrition launches, is increasing globally, featuring a 12% year-on-year growth when comparing October 2021 to September 2023 launches. The top category for these products was supplements, with vitamin C as the leading ingredient.
The use of nutraceutical & functional ingredients in supplements & sports nutrition launches is increasing globally, featuring a 7% year-on-year growth when comparing the period from July 2021 to June 2023 launches. Two out of three launches with such ingredients were supplements, with caffeine (11%) being the leading ingredient. These ingredients were used the most in supplements with immune health (23%), brain-mood health (21%) and energy & stamina claims (20%).

The use of fiber ingredients in supplements & sports nutrition launches is increasing globally, featuring a 4% year-on-year growth in the period from July 2021 to June 2023. In the period from July 2022 to June 2023, supplements (65%) was the top subcategory for fiber ingredients. Many supplement launches with fiber ingredients featured an immune health claim.
