15 Feb 2021 --- Anu Turpeinen, PhD, Nutrition research manager at Valio Ltd. The Finnish dairy Valio has over 70 years of experience in infant nutrition and science-driven innovation. The latest research focuses on harnessing Milk Fat Globule Membrane (MFGM) and natural Oleic-Palmitic-Oleic Fatty Acid Structure (OPO). “Milk fat is a treasure chest of bioactive components with many benefits for infants,” Dr. Turpeinen explains.
18 May 2020 --- In this research bulletin, Dr Anu Turpeinen explores clinical studies on baby formula rich in phospholipids. Fat globules in mammal milk are coated with a milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) consisting of complex lipids such as phospholipids. Phospholipids are naturally found in dairy fat and as part of MFGM have been associated with effects related to cognitive development and immune function in several scientific studies. Phospholipids can unlock business opportunities that include enhancing baby formula recipes, developing new products, or entering new markets.
