SupplySide West: Activ’Inside to present fruit-based nutricosmetic ingredients for skin health
13 Oct 2022 --- Activ’Inside, is sharing research about its cognitive health and nutricosmetic ingredients at the upcoming SupplySide West 2022. The company is spotlighting its champagne-derived Memophenol, SkinAx², SkinAx² Lift and Belight³ ingredients.
“The primary focus behind all of our ingredient development is performing a comprehensive range of scientific trials that will show that our ingredients do what we claim and do them well,” says Benoit Lemaire, CEO at Activ’Inside.
“To do so, we invest 20% of our revenue in R&D, and so far, we have earned 17 patents and published more than 20 studies on our ingredients. I’m excited to present these top-tier active ingredients at SupplySide West and look forward to the positive impact new partnerships can have on consumer health.”
Based in the Bordeaux area, Activ’Inside is an independent health food-tech company specializing in developing natural active ingredients, mainly from grapes and saffron. The company’s plant-based ingredients provide formulators the versatility to include these into food supplement solutions.
Nutricosmetic ingredient for collagen boost
Skinax² is an ingredient that features the antioxidant activity of grape seed polyphenols, bioactive superoxide dismutase (SOD) from French melon, including zinc and vitamin C for anti-aging. This collagen-boosting nutricosmetic functions to enhance the skin’s glow.
“While most nutricosmetic ingredients focus on secondary antioxidants as a main defense for the skin, Skinax² takes things a step further by also introducing primary antioxidants for a more holistic source of skin protection,” the company states.
“SkinAx² is the only formula that combines both primary and secondary antioxidants acting against different mechanisms that occur during the aging process.”
According to clinical studies, the active ingredient provides a multi-parametric action on all factors involved in skin radiance – skin elasticity, skin luminosity, skin color, melanin spots, redness and dark circles (relief and color).
Anti-dark spots ritual
Activ’Inside’s new ingredient Belight³ was researched and developed as a nutricosmetic solution for reducing dark spots.
This patented ingredient has been designed to correct hyperpigmentation and regulate melanin production by combining grape seed polyphenols, grape viniferin, licorice extract and vitamin C for a brightening action on skin complexion.
Human trials conducted by the company found that the “synergistic combination” improved melanin regulation within ten days.
In the study, 100 participants (80 women and 20 men) had a complaint about uneven complexion and dark spots which were evaluated in a dermatologist-led study using chronic supplementation for 60 days. It was revealed that Belight³ was able to efficaciously reduce dark spots related to age, sun exposure and pregnancy.
“Pharma-like” development for cognitive health
Formulated with a combination of French champagne grapes and wild blueberry extracts, Memophenol was developed to improve cognitive performance and memory.
“The blend concentrates the spectrum of essential polyphenols for a triple synergistic effect: higher bioavailability improved neuroprotection and increased antioxidant capacities,” Activ’Inside states.
According to the research carried out by the company on seniors, students and gamers, Memophenol showed to improve neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity, thereby helping consumers to restore memory, boost concentration, extend mental endurance and boost overall cognitive performance.
Working with academic and industrial partners and scientists, PhDs and engineers, Activ’Inside reportedly used a pharma-like development cycle to validate the ingredient combination. It went through molecule screening, six pre-clinical studies and nine proprietary gold standard clinical trials (published in scientific journals and earned two patents).
