Wholegrains: NPD Potential and Challenges

--- An overview of the evidence base linking wholegrains to health. It provides insights that may be useful to consider in relation to the production of novel wholegrain products.Wholegrains feature front and center in many foodbased dietary guidelines proposed by public health agencies around the world. The rationale for this is largely based on evidence from large studies on dietary intake in populations and their health outcomes over time. Most recently, evidence from the Global Health Data Exchange suggests that a low consumption of wholegrains is one of the major dietary factors associated with premature death and ill health worldwide.
