NP Nutra launches organic plant-based protein blend
05 Mar 2018 --- Nature’s Power Nutraceuticals Corp (NP Nutra) has launched an organic plant-based protein blend, named NutraProtein Power Blend. Due to its high bioavailability and digestibility, the company reports that the protein powder supplies the body with “an energy and stamina boost to get through the rigors and stress of a busy day or a physical workout.”
The nutritional formulation is naturally sweetened with Lo Han Guo (Monkfruit), instead of stevia, and aims to promote muscle metabolism and maintain overall physical wellbeing.
With a protein content greater than 55 percent, NutraProtein Power Blend comes in two flavors, Greens and Chocolate, and is more than 95 percent certified organic.
The Greens formula contains Pea Protein Powder 80 percent (organic), Sacha Inchi Protein Powder (organic), Brown Rice Protein 80 percent (organic), Alfalfa Grass Powder (organic), Barley Grass Powder (organic), Wheatgrass Powder (organic), Hemp Protein Powder 45 percent (organic), Lucuma Powder (organic) and Lo Han Guo 7 percent.
The Chocolate formula contains Pea Protein Powder 80 percent (organic), Sacha Inchi Protein Powder (organic), Brown Rice Protein 80 percent (organic), Cocoa Powder (organic), Mesquite Powder (organic) and Lo Han Guo 7 percent.
“NP Nutra is happy to offer a Certified Organic NutraProtein Power Blend. Our Sourcing Department has worked diligently to find authentic manufacturers and approve ingredients which meet the requirements of our Triple-T Verification Program,” says Mr. Thomas Walton, NP Nutra’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “Some ingredients like Pea Protein presented us with quite a challenge. Testing revealed that the majority of organic Pea Protein products circulating in the marketplace test positive for GMOs although they are supposedly certified organic. After substantial research and testing, we approved a premium organic Pea Protein and were able to finalize our Blend formulation. We are very excited to add NutraProtein Power Blend to our extensive Nutra Organics portfolio.”
“Pea protein is one of the most trending plant-based protein ingredients used to replace dairy and soy in a large variety of applications including snacks, shakes, smoothies, baked goods, meat substitutes such as burgers and even fish substitutes. The main challenge with pea protein is its unique flavor which tends to overpower the taste of other ingredients. In our organic NutraProtein Power Blend, we combined ingredients with the pea protein which balanced out the blend and resulted in a pleasant flavor and mouthfeel,” Margaret Gomes, Director of Marketing at NP Nutra, tells NutritionInsight.
“The blends were launched on our website, via our sales team to customers and through the press. Both blends will be officially launched at AFT where samples will be available.”
