DSM to acquire Twilmij to strengthen position in Animal Nutrition & Health

22 Sep 2017 --- Royal DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials, has announced the acquisition of Twilmij B.V., a well-established Dutch nutritional solutions company in the animal feed sector. DSM notes that its strategy in Animal Nutrition & Health is to offer tailor-made solutions to its customers leveraging its product portfolio and innovation capabilities. 

CJ CheilJedang makes “meaningful” acquisition of Brazil’s SPC producer Selecta

31 Aug 2017 --- South Korea’s CJ CheilJedang Corp plans to expand its portfolio now that it has acquired a 90 percent stake in Brazilian soy protein maker Selecta, one of the world’s largest producers of soy protein concentrate (SPC), which is used to produce animal feed. The sale was done for 450 million reais (US$143 million), according to a Reuters report.

Food allergies also leave animals suffering, says study

24 Aug 2017 --- Humans are not the only ones to suffer from food intolerance and allergy symptoms like swelling in the face or an asthma attack. Other animals, such as cats, dogs and horses, are affected after feeding as well, according to a new study by the Messerli Research Institute, a cooperation between the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna. In fact, the number of pets affected by food allergies and intolerances has even converged with that of humans.

DSM & Evonik Collaborate on Marine Algae for Animal Nutrition & Aquaculture

New Natural Supplement Relieves Canine Arthritis

10 Nov 2014 --- Arthritis pain in dogs can be relieved, with no side effects, by a new product based on medicinal plants and dietary supplements that was developed at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. "While acupuncture and electrical stimulation are two approaches that have been shown to have positive effects on dogs, until now a few studies have investigated a plant-based approach to therapy," explained Professor Éric Troncy, senior author of the study. His findings were published in Research in Veterinary Science.

BASF Increases Prices for Vitamin E and A Feed Grade

Cargill Buys Siamakme Aquatic Feeds Co., Ltd.

11 July 2013 --- Cargill’s animal nutrition business has announced that it is expanding its investment in the shrimp feed industry in Thailand by purchasing Siamakme Aquatic Feeds Co., Ltd, a shrimp feed manufacturer in Thailand. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
